OMG! I finally found my twin sister!!! ❤️❤️ I sign under every single statement here, Noelia. "Love your clothes longer!" just made my day :)

Yay! So glad you related to it! Basic stuff but so important! 😘

Yess to rewearing with confidence and treating your clothes gently!

Noelia Santana's avatar

It’s the key to looking amazing!

I use the hand wash cycle on my machine for most of my clothes and typically air dry them. The only exceptions are underwear and what I call "doggie clothes" -- I do dog agility and train dogs -- which get dirtier and stinkier and need more cleaning. And I use gentle detergents on everything.

Instead of the shower steam trick I usually spritz with a spray bottle w regular water. Takes most wrinkles right out. So I have 2 bottles, a vodka and a water spray bottle..

Noelia Santana's avatar

Yesss brilliant trick too!

As someone who has had a mixed relationship with fashion her whole life, this was extremely helpful and straight forward. Thank you!

I am so glad it was useful! Thank you for your words!

Uh sorry everything I wear out in public esp clinics hospitals Walmart crowds or where other people sit even cars goes in washer in cold water quick cycle and into dryer for at least five mins. Good way to prevent illness. If you know the filthy unhygienic habits most of public have you’d do same.

Noelia Santana's avatar

Yes fair enough! You do you! Also vodka spray works well as disinfectant.

Thank you for that I’ll try it I have a uv wand I use on coats suits and furniture but it’s nice to know vodka spray works.

Great advice Noelia. I usually buy slightly larger and tailor to fit perfectly.

Noelia Santana's avatar

Thank you Tamara! Yes, always better to buy a size bigger then adjust to your body. 🥰

I discovered that spraying wrinkled clothes with water (I use cheap spray bottle) while actually wearing them, works beautifully , in summer 😀! Now, in my family we spray each other before leaving the house. Works especially well with linen and cotton.

Noelia Santana's avatar

Yes!!! That really works too! Need to add it here! Thanks for your comment! 👏

I have a cashmere beaded sweater from the 50s given to me in the late 80s by a woman I cleaned for and became close to. It is so special to me.

Noelia Santana's avatar

Those items are precious and make you feel so special when you wear them!

Any suggestions on cute, stylish shoes for long days walking through museums and the city?

Noelia Santana's avatar

Yes! Will send you some links, join my chat!

Dawn Andresen's avatar

I’m embarrassed to say that I don’t know how to do that

bridget palmer's avatar

Do you suggest, by being bone thin?

Noelia Santana's avatar

Is there anything here that suggests that?

bridget palmer's avatar

Yes your choice of photograph to illustrate your article. My observation of women in London, who appear chic. They are thin always thin. Fashion promotes thin.

Noelia Santana's avatar

It wasn’t my intention, I enjoy fashion and I am not bone thin. Fashion is for everybody.

bridget palmer's avatar

I believe that, but as an older woman I so dislike the culture of thinness. Films, well so many actresses promote thin, as well as fashion. I appreciate being thin/slim can be the result of a good diet, as a vegetarian I am slim, but not thin.
